There are over 200 improvement districts in BC of varying sizes. Many of the smaller improvement districts are located in rural areas of the province where services such as water, fire protection, and irrigation are financed by direct taxation or user fees.
Improvement Districts do not qualify for most of the government funding available to Municipalities and Regional Districts, and many are in dire need of repair.
We believe that Improvement Districts should have the same access to government funds.
We invite all BC Improvement Districts to join with us in order to be better heard by the Provincial Government on funding for Improvement Districts.
